When an interesting looking Spanish email landed in my inbox I was pretty sceptical of it, with so many junk emails and viruses whizzing around. Twice I deleted it, suspecting it of being somewhat sinister, but when it came through again today its quirky appeal drew me to pay attention. Spanish not being my forte I googled ‘muro vegetal’ and found it was titled ‘Plant Wall’ or ‘Green Wall’. My scepticism fading I decided to click on the blog and happily it proved to be a good decision.
A green wall and roof blog created by French company “Murs Vegetaux”, who also have an office in Spain. They specialise in using Sphagnum Chiloe, a species of moss bryophyte, as the base for their green walls, facades and green roofs. There’s lots of useful information and some great images of works completed by themselves and others. Well worth a peak.
