Just before Christmas we planted these beautiful old iron effect window boxes for our clients in Bushwood Leytonstone to soften the frontage of their Edwardian home.
A classic mix of Buxus sempervirens spheres, Helleborus, variegated Hedera and white Viola was used to create a sophisticated feel, provide an evergreen foil and interest throughout the winter months.
The contemporary steel planters provide a simplicity that contrasts the more formal style planting in keeping with the period property.
In smaller planters scented Skimmia x confusa ‘Kew Green’ contrasts the lush foliage of Polystichum setiferum with highlights of white Cyclamen.
Leading to the main entrance planters contain sweetly scented Sarcococca confusa, highlighted by grass-like Carex oshimensis ‘Evergold’ and white Cyclamen to light up the shady spot.
