Bushwood E11 a year in pictures March

Here we are in March already and the next installment of Bushwood a year in pictures!

It’s been a dry month so far and we are currently waiting for the start of a hose pipe ban in our region. The clocks soon go forward and the garden, Wanstead Flats and Bushwood are all coming to life.

The City of London Corporation have gone a little crazy in Bushwood recently, following some undesirables hanging around a pathway through the woods. They decided to take action by removing some of the overgrown holly trees and brambles around the path to open it up.

Clearance was to be made up to 10 meters either side of the path. In reality they have cleared pretty much everything beneath the larger deciduous trees, including any young Oak, Beech and Plane trees that would have greatly appreciated the light.

So we’re feeling a little exposed at the moment and looking forward to things greening up again soon and the natural feel returning to the woods.
